May 22 is a day Michael Strahan won’t forget. It was when the onetime New York Giants star got engaged to Nicole Murphy and learned that his new television show, “Brothers,” had been picked up. ”It was a pretty great day,” Strahan’s manager told People.com. The former football star popped the question to Murphy while vacationing in the Bahamas. Murphy, ex-wife of actor Eddie Murphy, accepted Strahan’s canary yellow and white diamond ring. ”I have a great relationship and she’s a great girl,” said Strahan. “I don’t like to talk much about my private life, but I’m really happy.”
While the couple would not reveal much about their plans for the future, Strahan said that he and Murphy, who has five children with her ex, would not be expanding their brood. ”There aren’t any plans for kids …We’ve got nine between us already,” said the father of four. A wedding date has not been set, according to Strahan’s manager.
