Tiger Woods’ wife, Elin Nordegren, is planning to divorce the fallen golf icon, People magazine reported Wednesday. ”She’s made up her mind,” a source told the magazine. “There’s nothing to think about. He’s never going to change.” The report comes a day after the Daily News reported that Nordegren, 29, and Woods are going their separate ways for the holidays.
Nordegren plans to head to Sweden with their two kids, while Woods is going to be staying home to hang with “the boys,” a pal said. “He is very contrite, but he’s also disoriented,” a longtime friend of Woods told The News.
“He still can’t believe this is happening.” Woods, 33, whose image has been wrecked by reports he cheated on Nordegren with a bevy of babes, is stressed out but “not on sedatives,” the source said. The golfing great is looking for a safe harbor and “waiting for the storm to settle.”
“He’s been talking about going away with two or three of his friends, just the boys,” said the friend, who has known Woods since the golfer was a teenager. ”They’ve been trying to figure out a place that would be safe.” Woods’ posse includes his newly married pal, Byron Bell, whose name was drawn into the scandal when it was revealed he helped deliver New York party girl Rachel Uchitel to Australia for a reported rendezvous with Woods.
