“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Barney, whose husband Simon filed for divorce – citing verbal abuse and infidelity – last week, took to the blogosphere to defend herself … and her series.
“Thank you for everyone who understands and supports me. For the record, all accusations are false,” she wrote on Facebook. “Tune in to ‘watch what happens’ Thursday for my side of the story. Xoxo Tamra.”
The reality star’s televised tell-all has infuriated Simon, who sounded off to RadarOnline.com, saying, “Hopefully [the show's host] Andy Cohen and Bravo will have some class and dignity and not use my wife and family for ratings. My entire family and especially my children have paid a very dear price for the success of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Orange County. If they choose to exploit my family at this difficult time, it would be disgusting.”
The “accusations” Tamra plans to discuss this week were fueled, in part, by fellow “Housewives” cast member Gretchen Rossi. During the Bravo show’s current season, Tamra had accused Rossi of being a gold-digger who cheated on her late fiancĂ© Jeff. Now, however, the tables have turned as Rossi has been publicly airing Tamra’s dirty laundry on the show’s blog.
As it appears, Rossi also has some programming endorsements of her own.
“In [Thursday night's] episode when Simon is talking about how happy they are, it is obvious that Tamra does not feel the same way. I thought ‘poor guy he has no idea,’” Rossi wrote last week. “Then to hear Tamra say she ‘would leave him if it was just the two of them,’ WOW! That was a reprehensible remark if you ask me, I would be so devastated if I heard my spouse say that about me on national TV. We never truly know what goes on behind closed doors now do we though.”
Rossi claimed she was CC’ed on an email that Simon wrote to his wife, entitled “Your BS & Lies,” in which “definitely made me question if their marriage was truly as solid as they tried to portray at times.”
And it turns out that Simon was unaware of Tamra’s feelings about their marriage.
The scorned husband wrote on Bravo’s blog, “All season long, I have been unpleasantly surprised by some of my wife’s comments and conversations about me. I have no idea what she says or has said on camera until it airs.
“You don’t need to run me over with a truck to get your message across, honey! Of course it feels like a truck just ran over my heart and soul. Wow! What a fool I’ve been. Never thought to watch out within my own camp. ‘Et tu, Brute?’”
