Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney has been served divorce papers by husband Simon Barney. In the bombshell divorce papers Simon Barney wrote: “Petitioner (Simon) contends that Respondent (Tamra) has been verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and infidelity.”
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” star moved out of their million dollar home earlier this week and into a two-bedroom apartment, a source who knows the couple told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
Tamra and husband Simon Barney have been having severe problems for several years, the source told RadarOnline.com. But Tamra did not know that Simon was filing divorce papers, even after she moved out of their home.
Simon and Tamra have been married for 11 years. They have three children and she has a son from a previous marriage. “Simon has simply had enough,” the source said. “The show changed her.”
In a BravoTV.com blog post Dec. 11, Simon defended his bad rep as a “controlling evil husband,” as he puts it.
“I have been presented over and over as being controlling. Yes, it’s true! I admit it again. I am controlling! Controlling the damage and protecting my family. If you have seen my wife in the last few seasons, you know that if I was controlling I must suck at it.”
In other Barney news, Simon was sued by a credit union for owing $24,000 worth of payments on his Ferrari. They say financial problems are the biggest reasons for divorce and breakups.
